Recently passed the RES exam but unsure how to start about. Wished to start off as part time since I have a full time job. Any advise?

Hello Sir,
Good afternoon. Thank you for your query on starting out in the real estate business.
The starting step is the easiest in the journey, thereafter it would be a function of perseverance and devotion.
The real estate is a very personal business, there are unfortunately no classes where you can learn the key fundamental aspects of the business in a classroom mass setting. It is closer to an old school Master : Disciple type of relationship. IE, its like in the movies where you climb a mountain and find a monk sitting there and ask the monk to teach you Kung Fu.
So in essence, step 1 is finding your teacher.
How to find your teacher.. Unfortunately there is no science in doing this. There are however some key aspects that I can share with you to help you in your journey.
In the analogy of "climbing the mountain to find your teacher", there are 2 critical elements:
1. A worthy student
2. A worthy teacher
What does the above mean?
For Students:
An example of #1, in real time as I am typing this, I am running a workshop for IT marketing. In this class, there is a more "matured" individual, likely a grandfather who WAS a self professed IT idiot. He started his workshop sessions with me 2 sessions ago, clocking 18 hours of time with his laptop.
18 hours later, he has mastered Facebook and Instapage and is teaching the newer associates what he has learned. That is determination worthy of learning what the teacher has to teach.
For a teacher:
A worthy teacher ALSO needs to be a leader and administrator. The old school teachers focused on teaching. In today's evolution of the business, it needs to incorporate leadership, and administering support functions for the associates, these elements combine to form a more holistic aspect of the application of nurturing new or current associates in the industry.
The company that you join, then becomes secondary.
In summary, to draw an analogy from the Marvel Movie Doctor Strange. You are Dr Steveb Strange, now looking for Kamar-Taj.
