Hi, when joining an agency can I choose which division to join or rather I will be allocated to one of them? If I am interested in joining Huttons what are the procedures of joining after I passed my res exam?

Welcome to this new and exciting career path. Once you pass your exams, you would be have to wait for your official certificate before making your application to Huttons Asia Pte Ltd.

To answer the second part of your question, it really depends on how you go about joining us. In the event where you join via the company directly, then you would not have a choice in who you select to join, and would rather be allocated to a random manager instead. Therein it very much depends on your luck who you get allocated to.
The only way that you would be able to select who you are joining is to already know who the person is before hand. That would most likely be either through networking. In that case, you would already have heard peer reviews, and know something of the person's track record in the company. No doubt this is a more certain path to knowing what you are getting into. At the same time, there is also a risk this way as joining a big name anywhere, does not mean that you would be getting big-name attention.
Or rather, be expected that you would still be allocated to a sub-manager within the big-name division and end up back at square one again anyway.
In either case, before you join, you would also be given the chance to meet up with them and better find out whether their work methodology and team culture best fits what you are looking at BEFORE you take the plunge.
